All goods declared as gifts to individuals/enterprises valued below 2 million VND are free of import duty and tax (maximum 4 times/year)
Gifts declared as medicine, medical equipment for individuals under fatal disease (Appendix IV attached with Decree 134/2016) valued below 10 million VND are free of import duty and tax (maximum 4 times/year)
All import goods sent through postal services could only be delivered after the reciever pay the duty and tax may apply.

Vietnam’s E-commerce Market
2018 is a vibrant year of e-commerce development in Vietnam. With a number of more than 50 million users, E-commerce in Vietnam is highly appreciated in the international arena, located in the three countries with the fastest e-commerce development in the region. As forecast, with the growth rate of over 20% per year, the scale of Vietnam E-commerce market can reach 10 billion USD by the end of 2020.
The highlights of E-commerce 2018 can be summarized in 4 main ideas. Firstly, the fierce competition of typical e-commerce trading floors such as Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Sendo, Adayroi. Secondly, online advertising is more and more competitive. Third, non-cash mobile payment has developed strongly, reaching the goal by the end of 2020, cash accounts for less than 10% of the total payment means as set out in the ‘Non-cash payment scheme in Vietnam.
