a. Prevent the entry of prohited items
b. Guaranty the entry of import goods is in accordance with the requirement of the law
c. Guaranty the duty and tax are fully collected

All goods declared as gifts to individuals/enterprises valued below 2 million VND are free of import duty and tax (maximum 4 times/year)
Gifts declared as medicine, medical equipment for individuals under fatal disease (Appendix IV attached with Decree 134/2016) valued below 10 million VND are free of import duty and tax (maximum 4 times/year)

All import goods sent through postal services could only be delivered after the reciever pay the duty and tax may apply.

Vietnam’s E-commerce Market
2018 is a vibrant year of e-commerce development in Vietnam. With a number of more than 50 million users, E-commerce in Vietnam is highly appreciated in the international arena, located in the three countries with the fastest e-commerce development in the region. As forecast, with the growth rate of over 20% per year, the scale of Vietnam E-commerce market can reach 10 billion USD by the end of 2020.

The highlights of E-commerce 2018 can be summarized in 4 main ideas. Firstly, the fierce competition of typical e-commerce trading floors such as Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Sendo, Adayroi. Secondly, online advertising is more and more competitive. Third, non-cash mobile payment has developed strongly, reaching the goal by the end of 2020, cash accounts for less than 10% of the total payment means as set out in the ‘Non-cash payment scheme in Vietnam. Men ‘period 2016-2020. Fourth, the war of delivery among e-commerce transport units.

E-commerce developed like that but currently still accounts for a very small proportion (about 4%) compared to the retail sector. Therefore, there are still many potentials and opportunities for breakthroughs to develop more strongly in the coming time.

4. Tiki
Monthly Traffic Estimate: 72,016,266
Founded in 2010 as an online book seller, Tiki is a business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce website that touts itself as the fastest-growing retail company in Vietnam. The online marketplace sells more than 300,000 products in 12 categories and has an annual gross merchandise value of approximately $240 million USD.

5. Sendo
Monthly Traffic Estimate: 57,971,482
Launched in March 2012, Sendo is a consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce website that sells approximately 10 million products through more than 300,000 vendors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. The company helps sellers deliver their products in all 63 provinces in Vietnam, specifically targeting metropolitan areas outside of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where an estimated 74% of the country’s 95 million people live.

6. FPT shop

FPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company (FRT Retail) is now an associate of FPT Corporation Viet Nam, established on March 8th 2012 with 2 major brand names: FPT shop and F-Studio by FPT – Official authorized Reseller of Apple in Viet Nam. 9. Adayroi

the Vietnamese real estate conglomerate, Vingroup, established the e-commerce website, Adayroi. Besides selling products manufactured by Vingroup and its subsidiaries, the online marketplace also offers brands available at Vingroup shopping centres. Adayroi is also one of the few e-commerce sites that sells cars and motorbikes. In 2017, electronics and motorised vehicles constituted the bulk of revenue, while consumer goods represented the highest order volumes. Additionally, in 2017, total order volume doubled and transaction value quadrupled compared to the prior year. Adayroi, in order to combat disputes about quality and delivery issues, is currently working on attracting other reputable brands and developing its logistics system.

10. Nguyen Kim
